Concept

An approach shaped by science, psychology, and clinical experience.

In many health journeys, giving information and advice alone is not enough. How people feel about their health has a significant impact on their ability to recover. If you read on, there follows a few examples. Transformative coaching can help in all of these situations.

  • Sometimes, people feel like they don't understand what is happening. They don't know why they feel low, tired, or overwhelmed as they do. This in itself can block recovery.
  • Sometimes, people already know what they need to do for their health, but feel stuck in how to move forward to do achieve it.
  • Sometimes, people are frustrated by trying to implement changes and feeling like are failing. They don't feel they know how to break this cycle and make long lasting changes.
  • Sometimes, people feel somehow disconnected from the healthier version of themselves that they want to become; as if that isn't really ever going to be something they can have.
  • Fatiguing or stressful health conditions can take down your energy and drive; its hard to believe things can feel better. Sometimes when you have tried to move forward so many times, you lose belief that you can.
  • Feeling unable to sustain the life you are working hard for, no matter the root cause, can be psychologically devastating; this all feeds back negatively to your overall state of health. When health is also part of the cause, the cycle can feel inescapable. Holly’s work is about helping people discover their way forward with clarity, support, and a more compassionate understanding of their personal story, so they can rewrite their next chapters.

The story behind Your Health Edit.

Medicine

Over 18 years spent in medical practice, Holly developed a deep appreciation of how physical and mental health are tightly entwined. Grounded in research, she began to place increasing emphasis on optimising the mental state, and lifestyle medicine. Improving health across the six pillars of lifestyle medicine is shown to yield better long term outcomes. These six pillars include sleep, physical activity, nutrition, avoiding addiction, social connection and stress management. Years of experience working with patients struggling with the mental load of their health and life circumstances and seeing it affect recovery and progress drove Holly to build a more holistic approach to care. Your Health Edit was born.

Coaching

Growing a focus on transformational coaching adds a different layer to healthcare: allowing to dig down into why people feel and behave as they do. Transformational coaching works on a deep reflective level to discover behaviours and beliefs that unconsciously block progress. Uncovering and tackling these barriers empowers clients to create lasting change.

Your Health Edit

The Your Health Edit practice brings these two worlds together to provide an opportunity for patients to tackle the mental aspects of their health to improve their physical health. Coaching with Your Health Edit reaches into the pillars of stress management, and social connection. It also allows patients to move attention to other areas of their lifestyle, including exercise, dietary changes and counterproductive habits. It is helping people understand themselves, shift their patterns and mindset, giving them the tools they need to move towards the life, and good health, they want.

GP

Medical practice

Holly qualified in 2008 from the University of Nottingham with a degree in both medicine and medical sciences (BM, BS, BMedSci). She worked in junior doctor posts in medicine, surgery, A&E, paediatrics and psychiatry before qualifying as a GP and joining the Royal College of General Practitioners (RCGP). She studied for a diploma in obstetrics and gynaecology (DRCOG) which was awarded in 2011 and gives her a deeper understanding of women's health. She moved straight into GP partnership, becoming mental health lead and medicines lead for the practice for 7 years. Holly is an experienced GP supporting people across a wide range of health experiences and life stages.

TC

Transformational coaching

Holly studied for a Diploma in Transformative Coaching from Animas, obtained in 2024. She is deeply committed to helping people find their way forward using her expertise in reflection and offering accountability. Coaching is never about giving advice; it is enabling a client to listen to their own stories and discover their own solutions. Holly feels privileged to walk beside them as they work on their plans to move to a new path. Holly has extensive experience working with clients of different ages, walks of life and problem focus.

ER

Extended Reach

Currently progressing formal qualification for ADHD assessments and management with a goal to become a GP with Extended Reach (GPwER ADHD), Holly is experienced in working with those who are neurodiverse. She also a trained CBT-i (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia) therapist, offering sleep restriction therapy to those who may benefit. Sleep is hugely influential on the quality of both short and long term health, and Holly is passionate about ensuring that consideration of sleep forms part of holistic health management.
